What is Crystal Heart?
In a world where everyone’s heart is made of stone, special agents of an organization named Syn replace their own hearts with mysterious crystals that grant them unique powers, and team up to unearth more of these valuable artifacts across the Five Lands. One such team is on course to unearth much more: secrets within their own ranks, as well as the mystery behind the crystals themselves.
Follow Rotem, Guy, Lily, and game master Nadav in a TTRPG actual play comic, as they weave an intriguing story about friendship, fantasy, and world-changing magic. Be there with the players as they learn the game, roll dice, discover the world, and shape the narrative in pursuit of the secrets of the crystals.
Read Crystal Heart Online
The comic was originally published online, a new page each week. Many of the pages have additional details in the posts, that didn’t make it to print!
An observant reader could also find a few small differences between the originals and the printed version, such as the non-sparkly Wild Die in Chapter #1; the transition in-comic from dull to sparkly is explained in a secret page that didn’t make it to print, between the first two chapters.

More comics
Our four protagonists, Guy, Lily, Rotem, and Nadav, also appear in a series of comic strips about board games and gamers.
They also feature in Ready to Roll, a series of 2-page comics explaining the core rules of some worthy roleplaying games: Savage Worlds, Fate, City of Mist, and more.
Play the Game
The players in Crystal Heart use Savage Worlds, a real-world ruleset that’s been published in many editions and with many expansions over its 20 year history, gathering an avid fan base that praises its “fast, furious fun” motto – which is also the reason we chose this system for our comic.
Savage Worlds is simple to use, and the best part is, you don’t need to know anything about it – because you’ll be learning its core rules along with the players in the comic, as the story develops. Crystal Heart has been used by Savage Worlds’ publisher, Pinnacle Entertainment, as teaching material, and the game’s community considers the comic a go-to resource for curious new players.
Check out the Crystal Heart RPG, based on Savage Worlds (obviously!), one book with everything you need to know about the Five Lands, Crystals, and Syn.
